The Divide County Economic Development Council has chosen The Bank of Tioga as its Special Community Builder Award winner.

At a recent ceremony in Crosby, the bank was honored in part because of its mission to reinvest in the community. That reinvestment is made in the form of sponsorships, donations and support of local schools.

“We appreciate being selected for the Community Builder Award,” bank President David Grubb said. “Community support is part of our mission. This award is confirmation that the people of Crosby and the surrounding area are aware and appreciative.”

In 2018, the bank sponsored and donated to a number of organizations, including the Divide County Fair, Meadowlark Arts Council, Crosby Blue Line Club, Crosby Park District, Tri-County Ministerial Helping Hands and local food bank, among many others.

The bank helped facilitate the opening and ongoing operation of the Divide County Elementary in-school bank branch, providing an opportunity for students to begin the lifelong habit of saving, in addition to many other educational opportunities. The bank also hosts its annual REV event, with entrepreneurs and business owners making their pitch to a team of judges – with $10,000 in prizes to help their business grow on the line. Think “Shark Tank of North Dakota.”

The council works to help businesses and entrepreneurs throughout the county, and annually bestow a number of awards upon the people and organizations that help make Divide County a great place to live.
